It was a pleasant morning when Daisuke opened his eyes from a restless night. He had drank too much the night before and he needed to shave. Rubbing his eyes, he sat up and drew back the curtains, and then made his bed.

Upon dressing himself, he shaved and showered, looking sharp as he dropped his flat cap on his head. Before he left, he placed a fresh clover in a pocket he had sewn to the inside of his right shoe.

Daisuke went out to the kitchen, made himself a breakfast of bacon and rasher. Twisting his mouth in an uncertain frown as his hand hovered over the vodka bottle, he retreated and poured himself a glass of grapefruit juice. Later, after he finished, he sat down and read the paper with a cup of tea. The house began to awaken and that was when he left.

The Irishman walked out to the stable and tacked up one of the horses, riding out. It was pleasant enough, the ride. He was still tired. In the distance, smoke rose from the chimney of his destination. Knowing she was awake, he smiled.

Tying his steed to a post he had put in several years back for that very purpose, he adjusted his cap- repeatedly adjusting his collar before he finally walked out to her door, knocking.

She came, smiling sweetly up at him. Her house was spotless as always and smelled delightfully of her breakfast. The wood crackled in the fireplace.

"Oh Daisuke, good morning!" She seemed a slight confused, considering it was a thursday and he typically was already busy juggling customers. "What are you doing here?"

"Came to check up on ye. I wanted to see ye, lass." He said, smiling charmingly. Leaning forward, he noticed her wood could be replenished- it had been some time since his last visit. "Wanted to see if ye needed anything to be done. I can already see ye need some wood."

"Oh yeah! Hey, my back door won't lock anymore for some reason. Mmm and one of my chairs has a broken leg."

Daisuke smirked, "Seems that's one broken bone this doctor can fix."

She shook her head smiling, "Silly. Well, I have some papers to put in order. I'll let you have your way."

Still smiling, his blue eyes followed her as she walked to her office. He left, closing the door behind him and headed to the shed. First he took care of the door- which took a good hour and thirty minutes of work. He sat down for a moment, watching her first patients for the day begin to file in. He followed them in, picking up the broken chair and carried it out over his shoulder. This hadn't been the first chair to break a leg, so he had prepared for the future- making legs out of scrap would to match the others. Daisuke was funny like that. He didn't stop with the broken leg. He sanded down the scratches and knocks and bruises on the chair and removed the cushions. He sewed up the hole in one of them and proceeded to apply stain to the finished wood. He liked to keep furniture in good shape. When he finished his morning was coming to a close. Grabbing the ax, Daisuke began to chop wood. Shedding his shirt under the hot noon sun as it bore down on him, placing a rag towel in water and then under his hat before he continued to swing the ax. He carried the wood in and stacked it neatly in the wood rack, placing the remaining pieces in another stack outside the back door.

Daisuke smiled, looking over his "jobs well done". Satisfied he paused and sat before a clover patch. He remained there for about ten minutes. His determined eyes smiled when he found what he was looking for. Pulling something out his pocket and placing it there, he retreated back to Naomi's house after cleaning himself up and sweeping away the wood chips.

Approaching her from behind quietly, he wrapped his arms around her. "Could I borrow ye for a moment lass?"

She blinked, "Sure- right after I-" Daisuke dragged her away before she could finish. She stopped with confusion looking down at the clover patch.

"Help me find one," he said. Already his eyes were searching.

They sat there for a moment, both searching for the desired prize.

Daisuke began to speak, "The way I see it lass... Looking for love is like looking for a clover... Ye can settle for a worthless three-leaf clover, but their worthless and common..... But with patience and perseverance, ye can find the very one ye sought after, of course... very few can manage that."

Her eyes lit up when she saw the four leaf clover. As she went to pick it, something hard and round and cold met her flesh. She plucked the clover, looking in surprise to find there a beautiful clauddah  ring dangling from a string tied to the stem of the four-leaf clover.

"But it seems for once, I was lucky enough to find one- you. Naomi, may I have your hand in marriage?"

"Um..." Naomi paused, shocked, and staring wide-eyed at the dangling ring, "I... you...that is..." She stopped again and tears began to fill her eyes.  "Daisuke...." Suddenly she flung her arms around his neck "Daisuke I love you!  I love you so much and I was beginning to wonder if you felt the same!" Naomi leaned back to look at him, eyes glistening "I thought I would have to wait for a leap year and ask you myself !" She laughed, "Yes, yes I'll marry,  Daisuke! I'll marry you!" She hugged him tightly again.

Daisuke blinked. He had been so greatly worried that it would not have worked. He had thought about it for days on end- even lost sleep over it. He was in a daze for a moment- his body was numb with excitement and he was overflowing with joy. Finally his gawking jaw shut with a brilliant smile and for the first time in days, his blue eyes sparkled with Irish charm and he returned the embrace in full swing.

They stood together, smiling in their silent companionship. They would have to reveal it to the others later, for now he wanted to be with her. He slid the ring onto her finger, kissing her gently. "I    am sorry for making you doubt. Know that my love will never run dry for you. I will always love you- forever."

They walked back to her home hand in hand and had a quaint little lunch together before he had to retreat again to the Sliced Pan. His heart was a flutter and he waved when he mounted his horse. The two of them had responsibilities now, they would have to plan the wedding another time. He continued looking over his shoulder at her as he urged his mount forward. When she went inside, he began singing and sang on when he came into his restaurant. He remained in his cheery mood, pulling out his dusty old fiddle, tuning it, and performing at random with his heart swollen with excitement and happiness. He smiled all day and never tired of it. He winked and his eyes twinkled, his spirit was back again. Snagged between his teeth sat the very clover he had tied the ring to.

When people asked him why he was so happy, he'd simply state, "I received an answer to all my worries and now I cannot help but smile." when the asked what it was- he'd tap his finger against his nose, "Why it's a secret!"

Before he went to bed, he placed the clover from his mouth between the pages of the book on his nightstand "Around the Pan". He would frame it tomorrow. He dreamt more  dreams of happiness than a child dreamt on Christmas Eve that night and his soul smiled all through it.

Sooooooooooooo what'd u think guys!? This is kinda based off of my friends' and my roleplay. Naomi is actually a member of the Shinobi Twelve. Daisuke was bound to get married again- Didnt know to whom of when- but it was gonna happen. This isn't technically canon, but it's still realistic to the characters. Such a sweety!
